The enemy's within‚ say cops‚ as three Cape Town officers are held for drugs

Cape Town police have arrested three of their own in the war on drugs — and say they are poised to swoop on more.

The first arrest happened on Wednesday‚ when a 34-year-old officer at Parow police station was arrested at his home on charges of corruption‚ dealing in drugs‚ possession of drugs and possession of stolen property.

ABOUT 200 Zimbabweans, mostly women, are on death row in China after they were arrested for drug trafficking, an MP has said. Women Affairs, Gender and Community Development parliamentary portfolio committee chairperson Cde Beatrice Nyamupinga moved a motion on human trafficking in the National Assembly on Tuesday, where she made the revelations.
